We are now in our 5th year of existence and are planning a full scale festival complete with arts and craft vendors from across the Southeast and a first class music line-up for the enjoyment of the diverse population that calls Charleston and Tallahatchie County home. As we refined our vision for the festival we became aware of some of the issues that affect the people of the county, most notably, the poor state of health afflicting many of our residents. We decided to turn that negative into a positive and use the festival as a staging ground, not just to bring an outside crowd to town for good food, shopping and music, but as a way to highlight and address some of these health problems. To that end, we tagged the festival "Food, Music and Healthy Living."
