The City of Picayune, MS welcomes you to the vibrant energy and technology of the New South, charm, slow pace and genuine hospitality of the Old South. We welcome you to spend a day, a week, a month or a lifetime in Picayune. Once you have experienced this city of Old Charm in the New South, you may never want to leave.

Picayune Street Festival is listed as an example of a town event that effectively knows how to work toward a goal in the best-selling book Boom Town USA- the 7-1/2 Keys to Big Success in Small Towns. The festival started as a 6-business event in 1996 and now draws more than 300 vendors twice a year. Jack Schulzs book also states our festival was recognized by Southern Tourism Association as a Top 20 Event in the Southeast.

Visitors are sure to find just the right gift as they take a stroll through the street festival route and shop with our unique downtown merchants or the look at over 300 vendors displaying furniture, custom framing, glassware, plants, antiques, collectibles, pottery, monogramming, jewelry, painting, jewelry, woodwork, metal work, and numerous other art and craft displays.

Enjoy great music and local entertainment on 3 Festival Stages located on South Haugh Avenue, Church Street and SouthernChar Steakhouse parking lot during the 2-day event.

Children activities are located on North Main and East Canal Street next to the entertainment stage with fun jumps, pony rides and more.

Take a ride on the Main Street Express Train which travels right by the 4-Person Euro Bungee relax and enjoy a short tour of Historic Downtown Picayune.

HUNGRY?- In addition to the arts and crafts booths, there will be about 20 food booths serving some of the best Cajun, Greek, Barbeque, Seafood, and South Mississippi Cuisine.

Saturday, the Boulevard Cruisers will host the Bi-Annual Classic Car Show playing oldies but goodies. Trophies are given out in numerous categories.

Sunday, Artistry in Wood, 3-Time World Champion Chainsaw Carvers, will be located on South Main Street 11-3pm demonstrating chainsaw carving
